PROBLEMS WITH YOUR BOSS
And whatever you do, do it heartily as
to the Lord and not to men,
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance,
for you serve the Lord Christ (Col.3:23-24)
Lord Jesus, I come before You seeking Your mediation to
my conflict. Please help me sort
through the issues of our struggle with humility and objectivity.
But more important than determining who is right and who is wrong is the
choice I make in how to respond to this problem.
Please use this as an opportunity
to make me more like You.
You said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall
be called sons of God” (Matt. 5:9) Place
within my heart the desire to do everything within my power to live peaceably
with all people, including the person You have place over me (Rom. 12:18).
May my godly behavior compel my coworkers to call me a “son of God,”
and may I experience the reward of Your blessings because I have sought to make
peace.
I stand on Your Word, which says, “Therefore humble
yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6-7).
I humble myself under Your mighty hand, knowing that no wrongdoing or
unkind behavior escapes Your watchful eyes.
I cast all my cares upon You because I know You care for me.
Lord, please give me the patience to wait on Your divine timing to
intervene.
I acknowledge to You that the way I submit to the
authorities You have place over me is the way I submit to Your authority (Num.
16:1-11). Although my superiors may
oversee me, Lord You are the one I work for.
You are the one I seek to please.
You are the one that causes me to create wealth. You are the one who
blessed me with this position. Therefore I will labor in my workplace with faithfulness,
industriousness, and integrity regardless of the treatment I receive.
Fill me with Your love for my supervisor.
May I see them through Your eyes of compassion.
Give me insight into their lives and the grace to be as patient with them
as You are with me. Teach me how to pray
for them and whatever they may be going through. Teach me how to intercede
on their behalf. Lord Jesus, I
need Your strength to respond in love so that in every way my behavior will make
You attractive (Titus 2:9-10)
By Your Spirit, remove the barriers that hinder effective communication. Open the ears of both parties that we would hear what the other is saying, and give us the discernment to identify what has brought us to this impasse. If there is a hardened heart on either side, soften it and bring us to reconciliation. Let us recognize what the enemy has done, and surrender this situation to you completely. I am confident that in You we will sow seeds of peace, love, harmony and it will bring to me a harvest of righteousness, that which pertains to goodness and justice.
