FORGIVE, FORGET AND REACH

3:13-14 � this one thing I do, FORGETTING those things which are behind me,
and REACHING forth unto those things which are before me.
I PRESS toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ.

OTHER WORDS�.IT�S TIME TO MOVE ON!!!
Let�s say our scripture verses again: This one thing I do, FORGETTING those things, which are behind me, and REACHING forth unto those things, which are before me. I PRESS, towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Do you hear what the Lord is saying to us in these scriptures? First, FORGET IT, then REACH for what is in front of you, finally PRESS your way through to victory. Right I want you to focus on you. Get your mind off of everyone else for now. Don�t worry about what is going on around you. Focus, focus on you. I know that is hard for some of us to do; yet others
have it down pat. The Lord wants you to do this for yourself. You�ve been asking God to change this person and change that person. Right now He is saying look at you, then be honest with yourselves. If you can do that, then listen to what He is saying to us at this time.
FORGIVE
There are times in life when we go through things that cause us pain, things that hurt us tremendously. Things that hurt us so much, that we begin to believe that we will never get over it. We keep reliving the situations over and over in our minds. Trying to figure out where we went wrong. what could we have done differently, why didn�t it work out this time?
Through tears and confession, we have admitted our mistakes to the Lord. And God with through His mercy and grace forgave us, and wiped the slate clean. We have even confessed forgiving the person who wronged us. Yet, it is still there. When will it stop? When will I be able to look at the person that hurt me and not feel anger? When will I be able to move on? When? When you learn to forgive yourself as you have (or say you have) forgiven others.
To be able to truly forgive the others, you have to first learn to forgive yourself. Forgiving ourselves seems to be the hardest thing to do. The enemy knows this and he is using this to keep you in captive. Can you honestly say that you have forgiven someone for hurting you, abusing you, and abandoning you, when each time you see them anger rages inside of you? Someone mentions his or her names and you fly off the handle. Your child wants to talk about their daddy/mommy and tell them to shut up or go to their room? Can you honestly say you have forgiven them? Search yourself, you are still hurting inside if you are carrying on this way. You have got to forgive yourself. You have got to ask the Lord to come in and heal your heart, not only towards them, but also towards yourself.
Forgive yourself for your mistakes; you are not perfect, so stop trying to be. We have all fallen short to the Glory of the Lord.
I could go on with this, but I know you understand what is being revealed here. Forgive yourself, you must. It�s the only way for the healing to begin, and stop the enemy from having victory over you. Once you forgive yourself then FORGET!
FORGET
IT!
He is saying Forget it! Stop worrying about it! Forget it! It�s in the past, you can�t change it, and you can�t take it back. It�s in the past, and there is nothing you can do about it, except, and Forget it! Let it go, shake it off! Move on! Forget it!
Forget it, it�s over. Who really lost in this situation? Do you really want to be with someone who doesn�t want you? Do you want someone who is not worthy of you? Who doesn�t appreciate what you have to offer? Who can�t see that they are blessed to have you? Do you want friends that smile in your face and talk about you behind your back? Are you saying you really want someone like that? Do you want to stay where you are not wanted? No, you can�t be. No child of the King would want such a thing. But each time you allow the enemy to torment you with your past failures whether it�s relationships or other issues you are telling him that you miss what you had. You missed being treated that way. Half a man is better than no man, you say? Oh yeah, what half do you have? Can�t you do better (not bad) all by yourself? FORGET THEM! FORGET THE SITUATION!, MOVE ON!. GOD has something better for you. Tell the enemy SO WHAT! So what he/she left me, so what I lost the car, so what I lost the house, so what I lost the job, so what I am on welfare. Then tell him NEVERTHELESS, my God will avenge me speedily. NEVERTHELESS my God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, NEVERTHELESS, for greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. I am waiting on the Lord, I am of good courage, and He is strengthening my heart so I can �
REACH FOR IT!
REACH! To
reach towards your future, to what lies ahead for you.
All the joy and happiness the Lord has in store for you.
And how do you start to reach? You
first have to get your mind off the bad things and start thinking on good
things. Finally, whatsoever is true, whatsoever is honest;
whatsoever is pure, whatsoever is lovely and of a good report, think on these (Phil 4:8).
That means when a well meaning friend comes along to tell you some juicy gossip about the one who hurt you, or wants to talk about your past failures, you will stop them. Why, because if the conversation starts with child let me tell you what so and so has gotten themselves into. You don�t you want to be a party to that. Why, because the Lord has delivered you from all that hurt and gossiping about them will only open the door for the enemy to come in and attack you again. Now if the conversation starts with, girl we need to go into prayer for so and so, you are required to pray for those who have mistreated you. If it is not of a good report (of God), don�t think on it, don�t gossip about it, move on!
REACH for what you want, and it�s not the past.
Reach for those things, which are in front of you. Don�t let the past hold you
back. The Lord promised that He
wouldn�t withhold anything good from those that love Him.
And I know you love the Lord. Don�t
you? Then REACH for what you
want! Don�t look back.
REACH! Lay aside every weight that so easily besets you and REACH!
Use the past mistakes as your footstool.
Remember the Lord said that He would make your enemies your footstool?
Well, stand on your footstool (your enemies) and REACH!
God has his hand out reaching for your� REACH!
That�s right step right on top of them, and reach for what you want. The enemy has walked over you long enough. Are you ready? Are you standing on your tippy toes? Can�t you feel the blessing at your fingertips? Can�t you touch it with the tips of your fingers? Doesn�t it feel good to let go of the past? Can�t you feel the pain just roll away? Come on keep reaching, you are almost there? If you had a little more strength you could push it. Well come on keep reaching. Because when you have reached as far as you can reach, then you�ve got to�..
PRESS
YOUR WAY!!
Now that you feel it, and it�s starting to feel good, the enemy is trying to come back, don�t worry about him keep reaching. Because, now you are getting reach to PRESS your way. You�ve got your hands on it, PRESS. Put everything you�ve got into it and PRESS! Press your way towards the prize that God has for you. Only He knows the plans that He has for you, and His plans are too see you prosper. Nothing is impossible if only you believe.
PRESS your way! You have to make, you�ve got to make it. Be fearless at this point. In the name of Jesus, PRESS your way. Nothing can stand against the name of Jesus. No circumstance, no failure, no sin, no sickness. PRESS your way; you�ve come to far to stop now. PRESS! You are not going to take it any more, PRESS! Press your way pass those hurt relationships, because God has promised you something new. Press your way pass the failures of your past, because there is no failure in God.
Think of that problem as a cotton shirt that you left in the dryer too long. That shirt has some of the worst wrinkles you have ever seen. You�ve got the iron in your hand, put some heavy starch (the word of Jesus) on it, turn up the heat, and PRESS!
Press your way through every obstacle the enemy tries to place in your way. The Lord says if you shrink back, His soul has no pleasure in you, and you don�t want to upset God. So come on PRESS! I don�t care how many times you�ve been hurt, PRESS! I don�t care how many times the door has been closed in your face, PRESS! I don�t care how many times you have been turned down PRESS! I don�t care if you think they are going to laugh at you PRESS! You are almost there, don�t stop now. I know the enemy is tugging at your tail, trying to make you fall off your footstool.
Look up! Look up to the hills! Here comes the hand of God to help out! He�s blocking the enemy with darkness, and the light is shining through on your side. His hand is reaching down parting the way, pushing back the waters (the circumstances, the pain, the hurt, the tears) before you. Keep on pressing. Keep on calling His name, Keep on praising Him. Every place where your feet shall tread is yours, every promise God made in His word is yours, and PRESS your way, and God is working it out.
By now you should be feeling the way opening, feel the hand of God with you. Walk on through, don�t look back, walk on through. Feel the pressures of the past fall off you, feel your mistakes turn into victories, see the light breaking through.
Keep going, keep going, you are almost there. I know you have to feel it now. There is no denying it, you coming out of it. You almost at the other side, you can see the lily in the valley. You no longer are mad at yourself, but at peace.
Now feel the peace of God consume you as you move on. Move on to what God has prepared for you. A place flowing with milk and honey. You are finally over it. AMEN!
