GUIDANCE FOR JOB SEARCH
Trust in the
Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. (Prov.
3:5-6)
Father in the name of Jesus,
I come before you seeking Your divine wisdom and guidance in finding a job. Faithful Father, like the children of Israel wandering through the desert, I seek Your promised land of provision. Father, please give me an unmistakable sense of Your direction just as You did with Israel when You led them with a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night (Ex. 13:21).
Make straight before me a highway through the morass of job possibilities (Isa. 40:3). Open doors You have ordained for me to walk through and close the doors that don’t fit into Your plan (Rev 3:7), and Father help me to recognize and accept the doors that You close in my life. I confess my trust in You and commit myself to leaning on Your understanding, regardless of how enticing the job may appear to be. More important than income or benefits is being in the center of Your will for my life.
At the same time, I stand on the promise of Your Word: “And my God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus” (Phil 4:19). May I experience the abundance of Your provision and blessing just as You are able to make all grace abound toward me, that I, having all sufficiency in all things, may I have abundance for every good work (2 Cor. 9:8).
Your Word
challenges me, “Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be full” (John
16:24). I ask for a job that is tailored to my gifts, tailored to my strengths, and
tailored to my passions.
A job that I can look forward to going to each and every day. A
job that not only operates as a source of income, but as an outlet of ministry
to my coworkers.
Because I
trust You are directing my paths, I commit to walking by faith and not jumping
into a job out of desperation or out of fear.
Father, please give me eyes to discern between good and best and the patience to wait
for it.
“Behold God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid, For the Lord God is my strength and my song. He is my Jehovah Jireh and He has become my salvation.
