HOPE IN
DESPAIR
Lord, I come to you praying in Your Son Jesus Christ's name, confessing that I feel enveloped in darkness and despair. I feel as though nothing is working out for me and that nothing is going to work out for me. Lord, who do I turn to? Where do I go from here? If I could give up, I would, but I have nothing to give up to. So in this dark hour, Lord I cry out to You for help and I ask you to help me to hold fast to Your unchanging hand. I'm trying with all I can to hold on.
No matter how hard this
attack is coming against me. I won't let go of the hope
that I have in You because You promise to never leave me. You promised
never to forsake me, and Lord, You are my only hope. I
surrender myself
completely to Your will. Oh Father, fill me with Your goodness, faithfulness and Your
love and help me to stand..
Help me to hold fast in this midnight hour, and to
realize that even through I can't see you doesn't mean
that You aren't already at work in my life.
I am clinging with all that I am to Your promise Word:
to those who are called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28)
All that I am, all my
hope rests solidly in You and not in the problems or emotions that I face.
For I know that Greater is He who is in me than he that is in this world.
You have redeemed my life from the pit and crowned me with love and
compassion.
Lord when I put my hope in You, I can't help but draw
closer to You; I can't help but grow deeper in maturity; I can't help but sense
a greater outpouring of Your Holy Spirit in my life.
Oh Lord, open my eyes to the eternal lessons You are teaching me.
Lord, I refuse to live in denial of what I face, and I
will walk through this journey by faith and not by sight.
Lift me out of the muck and
mire and into the heavenly places and clothe me with garment of praise for the
spirit of heaviness.
Oh Father, I thank You for coming near to me this day. I thank You and praise Your holy name for the work you have done in me this day. I give You all the honor and glory for who You are. I shout hallelujah to the precious name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
In Jesus Name I pray,
Amen.
